Bamboo
Hobo Tote #2
This purple fabric is just gorgeous,
and is the thickest
among my Nishijin brocade offerings.
As you can see in the photos, the fabric features many colors,
including gold, silver, green, pink, blue, and burgundy.
Same pattern on both sides.
The Mon (emblem)
in the brocade is called Hanakui-dori Mon,
which is a type of Shoso In Monyo.
Shoso In Monyo was developed during the Kamakura period in Japan,
for use in formal kimono and obi,
and mostly used in for kimono worn at court, or on obi worn for formal occasions.
Hanakui-dori means "Birds eating flowers."
Birds are a symbol of Peace in Japan.
Facing fabric: Nishijin brocade (imported from
Japan)

high; 20½" handle
